The last of my independent, unique brunch blog spots was café Bramble in the South Side of the city. With free parking at the door of the café and Giffnock train station being a 2-minute walk away the café is easily accessible.
Upon arrival, the café had a buzzy and lively feel to it making it very welcoming. We were lucky enough to arrive just in time to grab the last available table. The menu was quite big packed with a variety of exciting dishes for brunch and lunch as well as vegan and gluten free options. They also had a selection of delicious looking home bakes including scones, croissants, chocolate and raspberry cake, toffee banana loaf and milk and white chocolate cookies.
Their mouth-watering Instagram account was what attracted me to visit the café. In particular the pancakes looked delicious and so I thought I had to try them. Their Instagram displayed a variety of seasonal specials as well as menu regulars. I decided to go for the buttermilk pancakes with butterscotch sauce, banana, toasted pecans and some seasonal fresh fruit. My friend decided to go for a savoury option, opting for “The Stornaway” which was a twist on the classic egg benedict with black pudding and chilli jam. She said it was delicious and left her full for hours. Her choice was probably smarter considering we had a hockey game but then who can resist delicious pancakes on a cold autumns day?
See ya latte!
